Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a dedicated nurse aide/nursing assistant for full-time night shifts. You will perform essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, focusing on patient-centered value and safety.

Responsibilities include hygiene care, vital signs, and documentation, while maintaining open communication with the care team and family when appropriate. This role emphasizes continuous learning and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Must have completed or hold one of the listed credentials: nurse aide, CNA registry, medical assistant course/certificate, or patient care technician course/certificate.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program with documentation of basic nursing fundamentals or graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Parkland’s job-specific training program is accepted.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic hygiene care, unsterile treatments, take vital signs, and assist with ROM exercises.
• Escort patients, respond to needs, protect rights and confidentiality.
• Monitor patient status and notify nurses of changes in condition.
• Record vital signs, ambulation, feeding outcomes, and other activities.
• Maintain sanitation, infection control, safety, and equipment use.
• Assist with movement of patients and provide translation services when needed.
• Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction.
• Pursue ongoing education and participate in training sessions.
