Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Part Time Patient Access Representative for the 3rd shift (nights). You will handle patient registration, verify demographics, and collect co-pays while maintaining privacy standards and high-quality customer service.

You will also assist with scheduling, pre-admission, and discharge tasks, providing accurate information to patients and families in a fast-paced environment. A sign-on bonus of up to $1,500 is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• HS - High School Grad or Equivalent
• Two years of Customer Service and/or Data Entry
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in lieu of two years of experience
• Proficiency in Keyboarding

Responsibilities

• Register patients by verifying identity and selecting correct records
• Review schedules and physician orders to register for the appropriate service
• Scan insurance cards, IDs, Living Wills, and POAs and enter demographics in the EHR
• Explain and collect complex regulatory and compliance documents
• Explain and collect co-pays, deposits, and balances; process transactions securely
• Greet patients and families and guide them to service areas; manage waiting rooms
• Perform scheduling, pre-admission, and discharge duties as needed
