Great River Health Systems is seeking a Patient Access Associate in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. The role supports patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and payment collection while maintaining confidentiality in the electronic medical system.

The position works 36 hours per week with night shifts (6:00pm–6:00am) and an every-third Friday/weekend rotation plus two holidays per year, offering a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED preferred.
• Less than 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients, families and visitors, providing a welcoming and professional experience.
• Register patients accurately, collecting personal and medical information.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate with clinical teams to optimize workflow.
• Verify demographics and insurance, obtain prior authorizations when needed, and verify benefits.
• Collect co-pays and outstanding balances in a timely manner.
• Obtain signatures for consents and legal documents, ensuring policy compliance.
• Handle incoming calls and route to appropriate departments, recording messages.
