Job summary

R1 RCM is hiring a Patient Access Representative for the Ascension Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX. This frontline role focuses on compassionate, accurate patient check-in and rapid information gathering in a hospital setting.

You will handle multi-system registration, answer calls, collect demographics, and provide cost estimates while coordinating with care teams to facilitate timely access to care. Training is provided for newcomers, with growth possibilities within R1 RCM.

Qualifications

• Experience in front-desk, patient access, or insurance verification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients and families with the check-in process across multiple computer systems.
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Support timely access to care by minimizing delays in registration and answering questions with confidence.
• Build trust with patients during moments of illness or anxiety.
• Navigate insurance plans, enter demographics, collect co-pays, and provide cost estimates when applicable.
• Collaborate with nurses and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
