Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Patient Access Registration Specialist I to support Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton, Colorado. You will help patients register, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and schedule appointments, ensuring accuracy and privacy in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Position requires greeting patients professionally, documenting in the EHR, and handling referrals and authorizations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet and email required.
• Experience with Epic preferred.
• Customer service experience in healthcare required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Verify patient demographics, financial and insurance information.
• Register and schedule patients for appointments, tests, and procedures.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and balances due at the time of service.
• Provide information on financial assistance, payment plans, and charity care.
• Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms, policies, and disclosures.
• Document and update patient records in the electronic health system.
• Follow up on pending issues such as prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications.
