Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston, TX seeks a Registration Specialist to facilitate access to services for new and returning patients, coordinating financial screening and arranging payment plans. Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent required.
• 3 years’ experience with billing, financial screening, insurance verification, collections, and/or customer service.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient demographics and third-party payer information.
• Perform COR, ED, Admitting Registrations in customized CBO tool.
• Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and authorization requirements.
• Screen patients for financial responsibility and possible cash collections.
• Determine potential reimbursement sources and assist with financial assistance programs.
• Determine and collect deposits and facilitate referrals/prior authorizations.
• Eligibility determination of third party programs.
• Provide information to patients, physicians, nurses and staff to support satisfaction and reimbursement.
