Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Paramedic to provide patient care in the Trauma II Emergency Department during the night shift (12-hour shifts, 6pm–6:30am) with rotating weekends and holidays. You will work under physicians and RNs, following organization standards and protocols.

Responsibilities include initiating respiratory care, IV/IO access, rhythm interpretation, medication administration, EKG and phlebotomy, and participation in trauma, stroke, STEMI and

Qualifications

• High School / GED required with basic patient care skills.
• Current Paramedic Certification in Ohio; ACLS and BLS required; PALS preferred.
• 2–4 years of patient care experience or related health field.

Responsibilities

• Initiates respiratory interventions and prepares for intubation per physician order or protocol.
• Starts and ceases IV/IO access including ultrasound guidance when requested.
• Interprets cardiac rhythms and initiates CPR/defibrillation as needed.
• Transports and monitors stable telemetry and non-telemetry patients.
• Maintains professional radio communication with incoming EMS units.
• Performs treatments and procedures per policies and guidelines.
• Administers medications per organization policies and orders.
• Performs EKG, phlebotomy, and CLIA-waived testing as assigned.
• Participates in trauma, stroke, STEMI and sepsis alerts and resuscitation.
