Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Paramedic for the Trauma II Emergency Department night shift (6pm–6:30am), three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays. You will administer respiratory therapy, IV/IO access, monitor cardiac rhythms, and support care under the direction of the RN and physicians.

This role requires Ohio Paramedic license, ACLS, BLS, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High School / GED required with basic patient care skills.
• Current Paramedic Certification in Ohio is required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; PALS preferred.
• 2–4 years of patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiates respiratory interventions and prepares for intubation per orders.
• Establishes IV/IO access and uses ultrasound as needed.
• Interprets cardiac rhythms and initiates treatment per protocol.
• Transports and monitors patients with telemetric support.
• Maintains radio communication with EMS and coordinates with RN.
• Performs treatments per standards and verifies orders.
• Administers medications per policies and procedures.
• Performs phlebotomy and CLIA-waived testing as assigned.
• Participates in trauma/stroke/STEMI/sepsis alerts and resuscitation.
• Performs wound care, suture removal, Foley care, and EKG.
