Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Paramedic for the Trauma II Emergency Department at Mount Carmel East. This 12-hour night shift position requires managing patient care from 6pm to 6:30am, with rotating weekends and holidays.

You will perform respiratory and vascular access procedures, cardiac rhythm monitoring, medication administration, and support for trauma and sepsis alerts while coordinating with RNs and physicians.

Qualifications

• High School / GED with basic patient care skills, EKG and phlebotomy completed.
• Paramedic certification in Ohio is required; ACLS required, BLS required, PALS preferred.
• 2–4 years of patient care experience or health-related field is preferred.
• Strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Initiates respiratory interventions (oxygen therapy) and assists with intubation per physician orders.
• Establishes IV/IO access and uses ultrasound as needed.
• Monitors cardiac rhythms and initiates CPR/defibrillation when indicated.
• Transports and monitors stable telemetry and non-telemetry patients.
• Administers medications per policies and follows physician orders.
• Performs CLIA-waived testing and phlebotomy as assigned.
• Triage support and supports trauma, stroke, STEMI and sepsis alerts.
