Job summary

IHA is seeking a Paramedic for Mount Carmel East's Trauma II Emergency Department in Columbus, OH. This full-time night-shift position runs three 12-hour shifts per week from 6pm to 6:30am, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include respiratory care, IV/IO access, rhythm interpretation, patient transport, medication administration, and teamwork with RNs and EMS. Required: Ohio Paramedic certification, ACLS, BLS; 2–4 years' health care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School / GED with basic patient care skills, EKG and phlebotomy required.
• Paramedic certification in Ohio required.
• ACLS mandatory; BLS required; PALS preferred.
• 2–4 years of patient care experience or health-related field preferred.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Initiates respiratory interventions per physician orders or protocol.
• Initiates IV/IO access and uses ultrasound as requested by physician.
• Interprets cardiac rhythms and initiates treatment.
• Transports and monitors patients.
• Maintains professional radio communication with EMS units.
• Administers medications per policy and guidelines.
• Performs EKG and phlebotomy.
• Performs wound care and sterile technique when appropriate.
• Performs triage and supports trauma, stroke, STEMI, and resuscitation.
