Job summary

The Campbell's Company in Beloit, WI is seeking a Packaging Machine Operator to safely and efficiently run snack packaging machinery on the 3rd shift. You will monitor documentation, read schedules, and ensure proper printer operation, labeling, and nitrogen testing, while maintaining packaging material stock and machine readiness.

You will perform maintenance, calibration, and changeovers, and contribute to a high-quality output with strict safety practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and/or 1 year of production experience.
• Ability to lift 40+ lbs regularly; up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Must be able to work night shift (10:45 PM – 7:00 AM) with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintains shift documentation (Metal Detector and Batch Verifications).
• Reads production schedule and plans accordingly.
• Reads and interprets schedule in MicroStrategy.
• Prints labels on printers; selects correct program; performs maintenance on printers.
• Performs nitrogen testing.
• Monitors and operates packaging machinery for efficiency and quality.
• Maintains stock of packaging materials and ensures availability for each machine.
• Sets up and writes new programs for bag makers.
• Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Calibrates scales and adjusts formers for proper operation.
• Operates packaging equipment including case sealers and robot cells; conducts changeovers.
• Plans machine changeovers to minimize downtime.
• Ensures correct film cutoffs and proper end seals.
• Monitors weight control program and product appearance.
• Identifies and resolves quality issues; reworks good product as needed.
• Keeps area clean; reports maintenance issues promptly.
• Adheres to safety and hygiene guidelines and reports injuries.
• May provide leadership to packers and backup coordination as needed.
