Job summary

Mars Petcare is seeking an Operator 2 for the night shift at our Kansas City, MO manufacturing plant to ensure safe, efficient production of quality products. The role requires strong problem solving, teamwork, and adherence to GMP and food safety standards.

You will work with equipment, perform change-overs, and support inventory, sanitation, and basic maintenance tasks while providing informal leadership to temporary staff. Compensation includes benefits and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently without supervision as well as within a team.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to complete the conversion process and package the finished product.
• Conduct problem-solving and troubleshooting as necessary.
• Load packaged material, clear jams, resetting faults, conducting change-overs, quality checks, reporting issues, and maintaining area GMPs.
• Complete basic preventative maintenance work as assigned (CIL’s).
• Ensure quality & food safety procedural conformance.
• Wear required PPE and report any safety hazards immediately.
• The ability to communicate accurate and timely information using computer technology.
• Ability to work in a self-directed manner with a positive attitude. Must be reliable, conscientious, punctual, and have a good work ethic.
• Conduct sanitation activities as required
• Conduct and manage inventory throughout the production process
• Provide informal leadership to temporary associates throughout the production process
