Job summary

MARS PETCARE in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Operator 2 for the night shift to ensure safe, efficient production of quality products. You will work across processes, handle change-overs, and support continuous improvement while maintaining GMP and food safety standards.

The role requires good communication, reliability, and the ability to operate diverse equipment. Prior experience in pet food manufacturing is a plus; strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently without supervision as well as within a team setting.
• Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and computer skills.
• One year pet food and/or food manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Operating equipment to complete the conversion process and package the finished product prior to shipping to our customers.
• Conducting problem-solving and troubleshooting as necessary.
• Loading packaged material, clearing jams, resetting faults, conducting change-overs, quality checks, reporting issues, and maintaining area GMP's.
• Completing basic preventative maintenance work as assigned (CIL's)
• Ensuring quality & food safety procedural conformance
• Wearing required PPE and reporting any safety hazards immediately
• The ability to communicate accurate and timely information using computer technology.
• Ability to work in a self-directed manner with a positive attitude. Must be reliable, conscientious, punctual, and have a good work ethic.
• Conduct sanitation activities as required
• Conduct and manage inventory throughout the production process
• Provide informal leadership to temporary associates throughout the production process
