Job summary

Mars Petcare is seeking an Operator 2 for a night shift at our Kansas City, MO plant to support the Nutro brand. You will operate equipment, monitor quality, perform change-overs, and ensure safety and GMP compliance.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, strong communication, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. Prior pet food/food manufacturing experience is preferred, with willingness to perform sanitation and inventory tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to work independently without supervision as well as within a team.
• Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to complete conversion and package finished product.
• Conduct problem-solving and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Load packaged material, clear jams, reset faults, perform change-overs, perform quality checks.
• Complete basic preventative maintenance work (CILs).
• Ensure quality and food safety procedural conformance.
• Wear PPE and report safety hazards immediately.
• Communicate accurate and timely information using computer systems.
• Work self-directed with a positive attitude; be reliable and punctual.
• Perform sanitation activities as required.
• Manage inventory throughout production and provide informal leadership.
