Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead drivers and hourly staff at a Houston location. You will direct daily tasks, scheduling, and customer service operations while aligning with company goals and cost objectives.

Responsibilities include supervising processes, driving continuous improvement, and partnering with teams to meet performance targets. A strong leadership presence and effective communication are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect, build rapport and maintain solid relationships with associates, Company leadership, internal and external customers.
• Must have ability to work efficiently and independently with strong time management and organizational skills.
• Strong written/oral communication skills and the ability to actively listen are required.
• Ability to manage through a problem, think critically, and make decisions independently.
• Ability to drive process improvement and lead change.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
• Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train supervisors and hourly staff to meet customer objectives.
• Oversee logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and documentation.
• Evaluate and implement changes to improve dispatch productivity and assist in training of new associates.
• Provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates are on time off or absent.
• Maintain knowledge of site operating systems to ensure compliance and correct exception resolution.
• Complete all required records and reports accurately and on time.
• Manage payroll-related activities to minimize overtime and meet productivity targets.
• Engage with customers and internal teams to align with safety and quality standards.
