Job summary

HP Hood is seeking an Operations Supervisor to provide leadership on the production shift, drive safety, quality and cost objectives, and support continuous improvement across the plant. The role requires managing a 5:00pm–5:00am shift, training and coaching team members, and enforcing GMPs and SOPs to maintain a safe, efficient operation.

You will coordinate with other departments, supervise scheduling and labor, and ensure dairy processing compliance while fostering a positive work environment

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic to complex math tasks.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Understand and align with HP Hood's goals.
• Ability to operate facility equipment.
• Complete training requirements.
• Read and interpret UPC/code information.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for production, safety, quality, employee relations, performance and cost for their assigned shift.
• Attain production objectives and the most effective utilization of resources on their assigned shift.
• Coach and mentor employees to improve job capabilities and resolve issues.
• Drive continuous improvement balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale.
• Enforce GMPs and adhere to company policies and SOPs on shift.
• Validate training and development of employees and ensure SOP compliance.
• Ensure compliance with dairy processing laws and working conditions on shift.
• Report food safety problems and support SQF by maintaining food safety and quality.
• Maintain a positive work environment and open-door policy.
• Ensure effective shift communication and interdepartmental coordination.
• Interview and hire for assigned areas and manage coaching and development plans.
• Oversee employee scheduling and labor planning to meet objectives.
• Ensure safety compliance and timely investigations and retraining.
