Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa in the United States is seeking an Operating Engineer to maintain and operate boilers, chillers, generators, and medical gas systems. The role includes water treatment, HVAC distribution, and building management system oversight.

You will ensure safety, accuracy of records, and adherence to HIPAA and hospital policies while supporting patient care facilities around the clock.

Qualifications

• High school or HVAC degree with facility equipment experience.
• Must obtain boiler operator license within 12 months.
• Must be mechanically inclined and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Computer literacy and valid driver’s license.
• Must wear mask and be fit tested annually.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and monitor high-pressure boilers and support systems.
• Operate, maintain and monitor chillers, chilled water and their support systems.
• Maintain domestic water and hydronic heating/cooling distribution equipment.
• Operate air handling systems and monitor associated systems.
• Perform daily water testing and maintain chemical levels.
• Proactively identifies safety concerns and follows policies.
