Job summary

Packsize is seeking a Resident Service Engineer for an on-site, night-shift role in Logan, NJ. You will install, maintain and support Packsize equipment at a key customer site, manage parts inventory, and build strong customer relationships by delivering 5-star service.

The position requires troubleshooting expertise, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to travel as needed. A degree or vocational training is valued, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in parts and inventory management, preferably in similar industry.
• Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Basic Excel, Word skills
• Knowledge of Windows platforms
• Advanced mechanical skills
• Advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve equipment issues utilizing drawings, operational characteristics, and technical documentation
• Ability to learn troubleshooting and problem-solving procedures
• Able and willing to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist
• Must be able to climb a ladder
• Exhibit mature, independent judgment with little or no direct supervision
• Effectively communicate through written and verbal reports to customer and direct supervision regarding worksite status
• Associate degree or Vocational technical training is strongly desired, Bachelor's in related area preferred
• Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Clean driving record with a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with R&D, Software and Quality Engineering teams
• Receive incoming parts and supplies, verify their quality and quantity
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of parts transactions
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels of parts and supplies
• Analyze customer KPI's to identify machine performance issues and maintenance
• Complete and successfully pass training courses
• Develop knowledge of Packaging Designs
• Learn and develop customer support and technical skills for maintenance
• Perform preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and accessories
• Install new equipment and train Customer Personnel
• Learn and complete basic administration duties (emails, tasks)
• Exposure to moving parts and electricity requiring safety protocols
• Maintain excellent work ethic and time management
• Be accessible via telephone and respond promptly to messages
• Travel by vehicle or airplane within assigned geography; overnight travel may be required
