Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to support lab and hospital areas in Marlborough, MA. The role involves preventive maintenance, repairs, and on-call response for pneumatic tube systems, lab equipment, plumbing, electrical and HVAC components.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 4+ years in a large facilities setting, basic computer skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Trade school completion preferred.
• Minimum 4 years in a large facilities maintenance environment.
• Ability to read, write, calculate and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of plumbing, heating, electrical, pneumatic tube systems and related repairs.
• Basic computer skills; valid on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on pneumatic tube systems and related equipment.
• Repair and maintain lab equipment, pumps, valves and environmental systems.
• Replace light bulbs, repair walls, and paint as needed.
• Assist with creating new layouts and coordinating generator/electrical testing.
• Move and install large lab equipment and furniture with appropriate tools.
• Maintain records of work orders and safety compliance.
• Respond to emergency calls and on-call staffing requirements.
