Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs across hospital facilities in Worcester. The role involves electrical, plumbing, heating and mechanical tasks, with a focus on keeping equipment and systems running safely and efficiently.

The position is non-exempt, with an evening shift (3PM-11PM), 40 hours per week, and a potential signing bonus.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and math skills required.
• Basic plumbing, heating, electrical and mechanical repair knowledge.
• Experience with maintenance work orders and CMMS.
• One to three years of experience; trade school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair of medical facility equipment and systems.
• Replace light bulbs; assist with fire alarm system shutdowns, generator tests, and major repairs.
• Fabricate minor repair parts and components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, plumbing and electrical issues and respond accordingly.
• May perform sheet metal cutting, welding and soldering.
