Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a non-exempt Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance across campuses. You'll handle plumbing, heating, electrical and mechanical tasks, following work orders and preventive schedules to keep critical systems running.

The role requires 1–3 years experience, basic computer skills, and the ability to read and write; a trade school background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic plumbing, heating, electrical, and mechanical techniques.
• Reads and follows instructions; uses a computer to input work orders.
• 1–3 years of maintenance experience; trade school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (medical gas, pumps, compressors, etc.).
• Replace light bulbs and assist with electrical tests and major repairs.
• Fabricate minor repair parts and assist with installation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, plumbing, and electrical issues and respond appropriately.
• May perform sheet metal cutting, welding, soldering.
