McPherson Hospital Inc. in Kansas seeks a House Supervisor to serve as an extension of hospital administration during absences and to join Nursing Leadership. The role ensures quality care and maintains clinical standards while managing shift resources across departments on the night shift.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in a clinical role, KSRN licensure, and emergency leadership capability. ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC within one year; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in a clinical role required.
• House Supervisor or other leadership experience preferred.
• Licensed in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse prior to the date of hire
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC verified within one year of hiring
• NIH Stroke Scale competency required within one year of hiring

Responsibilities

• Proactively matches existing human and material resources throughout the assigned shift.
• Identifies ways to improve customer service, streamline care processes and lower costs.
• Actively participates in the identification and resolution of problems/issues and concerns that impede the delivery of quality care to patients and families.
• Responds to and provides leadership for security and building facility issues that involve patients and visitors.
• Implements contingency plans for timely patient placement when patient volumes exceed available resources and provides detailed information to leadership as appropriate.
• Demonstrates the core values in all interactions with staff, customers and the public.
• Communicates appropriate information effectively, accurately and timely to the appropriate director or senior leader.
• Initiates and supports change by utilizing the input of experts, critical thinking, and the empowerment of others.
• In collaboration with other department leaders, demonstrate the ability to understand the staffing matrix and to staff the departments appropriately.
• May perform other duties as assigned or requested.
• Completes the initial investigation of all accidents that occur on hospital property.
• Responds to all patient emergencies and hospital emergency codes and fills the role of incident commander until incident is resolved or the incident command structure is expanded and the role is assumed by another individual.
• Assists providers and nursing staff in resolving issues related to the EMR.
• Continuously rounds on all nursing units, providing assistance with patient care where needed and when able.
