Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Leavenworth, KS, is seeking an RN House Supervisor for Saint John Hospital to ensure safe, smooth hospital operations during night shifts. The RN House Supervisor acts as the administrative leader when management is off-site and ensures staffing, patient care, crisis response, and interdepartmental coordination are uninterrupted.

Required: RN license, BLS, ACLS within 30 days, plus 3+ years acute care nursing and 1 year supervisory experience; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• BLS certification required on hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Intervene in emergencies and codes as needed.
• Monitor bed availability and coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Collaborate with ED, ICU, med-surg, and ancillary departments to prevent bottlenecks.
• Manage staffing based on census and acuity; coordinate float pool, per diem, or agency support.
• Prepare shift reports and document critical incidents and safety concerns.
• Oversee hospital operations during shifts in absence of leadership.
• Support staff, assist with urgent procedures, ensure RN orientation, and promote patient experience.
