Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, IN is seeking a Multi-skilled Technician for a full-time night shift under RN supervision. You will perform basic patient care tasks, take blood glucose measurements, assist patients with daily living activities, and help with EKGs and Phlebotomy as trained.

The role emphasizes following laws, maintaining patient safety, stocking rooms, attending trainings, and contributing to a patient-centered care team.

Qualifications

• The level of knowledge ordinarily acquired through the completion of high school level courses.
• CPR certification on hire or able to attain within 60 days.
• Previous patient care experience and/or technical education in health-related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including taking blood glucose measurements, recording intake and output, assisting patients with daily living activities.
• Performs ordered EKGs according to policy and per documented training and competency assessment.
• Performs Phlebotomy duties according to policy and per documented training and competency assessment.
• Attends required in-services, workshops, staff meetings and keeps patient rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and adheres to laws and regulations pertaining to patient health and safety.
