Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a motivated and experienced production welder to join our team. This role performs MIG welding on a variety of structural steel components, including rigid frame columns, rafters, pipe, beam canopy rafters, and small parts, in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and paid time off from day one, with overtime anticipated on a full-time, direct-hire basis.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year welding experience in production or valid welding certification.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to obtain CWB and AWS welding certification per procedures.
• Experience with forklift and/or overhead crane is a plus.
• Ability to operate basic power hand tools and meet deadlines.
• Team oriented, collaborative and capable of aligning with manufacturing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow to achieve the required bead quality.
• Read blueprints and shop drawings to meet tolerances and weld specifications.
• Train and teach proper welding procedures per manufacturing job procedures.
• Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment when needed.
• Maintain continuous improvement in the work area and uphold safety rules.
• Maintain bead shape, size and penetration while ensuring product quality.
