Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a MIG welder to perform welding on structural steel in a fast-paced production setting. The role requires close attention to detail and strict adherence to safety rules and procedures.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and welding experience or certification, the ability to read blueprints, and the capacity to operate forklifts and overhead cranes when needed. Training and certification opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Welding experience in a production environment or valid welding certification.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certification per procedures.
• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Comfort with power hand tools and willingness to train on forklift/crane.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on structural steel according to shop standards.
• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel, and gas flow based on bead condition.
• Read tape measures and blueprints to validate dimensions.
• Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment safely.
• Maintain bead shape, size and penetration, and uphold quality in a fast-paced production area.
