Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures in Clinton, IL is seeking Night Shift Sr. Fitter/Welders to lay out components, set up and operate MIG welding equipment, and weld structural steel for utility structures.

You will read blueprints, measure to tight tolerances, and work on complex subassemblies during the night shift (6pm–4:30am) with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits. Join a team focused on safety, quality, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of applicable welding experience and/or successful completion of weld training and education.
• Flux or Metal Core welding experience highly preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders is required.
• Ability to accurately measure within specified tolerances.
• Night Shift hours 6pm to 4:30am.

Responsibilities

• Observe all safety practices and follow all safety rules.
• Lay out and cut complex subassemblies and/or final product.
• Fit and complete final welds and/or multi-pass welds.
• Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Maintain and complete all required records.
• Participate in safety committees and/or other initiatives.
• Complete other duties as required including helping to train other employees as needed on new tasks.
