Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a motivated production welder to perform MIG welding on structural steel in a fast-paced production setting. The role includes reading blueprints, adjusting weld parameters, and maintaining high-quality bead integrity while following safety rules.

Overtime is expected, and training will be provided to grow within the team. Base pay starts at $25 per hour with a $1 night-shift differential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year welding experience in a production environment or valid welding certification.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certification per Cornerstone procedures.
• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow for bead quality.
• Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards.
• Train and guide others in proper welding procedures as needed.
• Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment.
• Maintain bead shape, size and penetration as specified and ensure product quality.
