Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Atwater, CA is seeking a MIG Welder to perform welding on structural steel pieces in a fast-paced production setting. The role requires reading blueprints, maintaining bead quality, and adhering to safety rules.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one (1) year experience welding in a production environment or valid welding certification
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings
• Ability to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certification in accordance with Cornerstone Building Brands welding procedures
• Experience with forklift and/or overhead crane operation is a plus
• Comfort and familiarity with power hand tools
• Willingness to train, certify, and operate forklift and overhead crane
• Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• General mathematical knowledge and proficiency with basic measuring instruments

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on structural steel components per shop standards
• Set weld parameters and monitor bead quality
• Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards
• Train others in proper welding procedures
• Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment
• Maintain quality and organize work area
