Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital, a UHS facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan, seeks a Mental Health Technician for PT Nights (24 hrs/week, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, every other weekend).

Responsibilities include routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, monitoring for aggression, de-escalation, safety, ADLs, and documentation, in a therapeutic setting. Opportunities for growth within UHS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of college in psychology, social work, mental health or related fields is preferred.
• Experience dealing with emotionally disturbed individuals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions from nursing leadership and hospital policies.
• Report patient medical problems to the Registered Nurse.
• Monitor sensory perceptual changes and de-escalate when needed and communicate to the RN.
• Provide care with attention to safety, patient rights and a therapeutic environment.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers and complete documentation promptly.
