Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital, a UHS facility in Auburn Hills, MI, seeks a Mental Health Technician for PT day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) 24 hours per week, every other weekend. You will support admissions, discharges and transfers, monitor patients, and help de-escalate agitation under RN supervision, ensuring safety and a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and preferred college coursework in psychology or related fields; experience with emotionally disturbed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of college coursework in psychology, social work, mental health or related fields preferred.
• Experience with emotionally disturbed individuals preferred.
• Good standing for internal transfers.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions from nursing leadership and hospital policies.
• Report patient medical problems to the RN.
• Observe and report verbal/non-verbal cues and possible delusions/hallucinations; assist with de-escalation.
• Provide daily living assistance while ensuring safety, rights, comfort and a therapeutic environment.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers and complete required documentation.

Education
