Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital, a UHS facility in Auburn Hills, MI, is seeking a Mental Health Technician to work FT Nights (36 hrs/week). The role supports patient care under RN supervision and focuses on admissions, transfers, safety, and therapeutic environment for behavioral health patients.

You will assist with activities of daily living and help maintain a calm, safe setting while documenting care and responding to patient needs. Join a dedicated team at Havenwyck Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prefer a minimum of two years of college in areas of psychology, social work, mental health, and other related health fields.
• Experience in dealing with the emotionally disturbed preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows instructions given by all nursing leadership and as outlined in Hospital policies and procedures.
• Reports patient medical problems to the Registered Nurse.
• Reports alterations in sensory perceptual images, recognizing the differences between illnesses, delusions and hallucinations; monitors safety issues and de-escalates as needed.
• Provides care to patients with safety, comfort and a therapeutic environment in mind.
