Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital in Auburn Hills, Michigan, is hiring a Mental Health Technician for full-time day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 36 hours weekly, every other weekend). Under RN supervision, you will assist with admissions, discharges and transfers, monitor patients for safety and escalation, and support daily living activities in a therapeutic environment.

You will report to nursing leadership and help maintain safety, comply with hospital policies, and document care provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Prefer two years of college in psychology, social work, mental health.

Responsibilities

• Follows instructions from nursing leadership and hospital policies.
• Reports patient medical problems to the Registered Nurse.
• Identifies and reports alterations in sensory perceptual images and monitors safety to prevent harm; communicates issues to the RN.
• Provides patient care that ensures safety, comfort and a therapeutic environment.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, transfers, and completes the appropriate documentation.
