Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the MedSurg unit (4 East). You will assist with patient care under RN supervision, perform vital signs, hygiene, and mobility tasks, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS, CPR certification required or obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to pass clinical competency testing.
• Physical ability to perform job responsibilities, including mobility and stamina.
• Basic math and computer proficiency required.
• One of the following healthcare-related trainings/experiences: PCT in acute setting, nursing program rotations, PCT training, CMA training, EMT/field medic experience; bilingualism a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient care interventions for MedSurg patients and families.
• Provide clinical services such as vital signs, bathing, feeding, wound care, hygiene help, and emotional support.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment through environmental and inventory duties.
• Support efficient operation of the MedSurg department to promote quality patient outcomes.
