Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist to join its Wisconsin core lab staff. The role involves performing diverse tests across specialty areas, ensuring timely results and accuracy in an acute setting, and supporting critical care departments.

Requires MT/MLS certification within 1 year and a Bachelor's in related field. Full-time, 40 hours/week with 2200-0630 night shifts and occasional weekend/holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related field.
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory testing of biological specimens in an acute setting using manual or automated techniques.
• Monitors workflow, reports timely and accurate results, and ensures quality control.
• Performs calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment as needed.
• Provides training and technical assistance to staff and students.
• Ensures compliance with accrediting standards and CAP requirements.
• Performs testing across transfusion, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation and flow cytometry.
