Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides direction for questions or problems referred by an MLT regarding specimen acceptability, results, and instrument problems.
• Performs accurate testing of specimens according to protocol and procedures.
• Reports test results timely according to protocol and procedures.
• Maintains quality control and compliance with CAP, JCAHO and regulatory standards.
• Performs instrument maintenance as needed.
• Follows safety, privacy and chain-of-custody procedures.
• Assists with orientation of students or new staff.
• Performs phlebotomy as required by location.
• Floats to other lab sites as workload requires.
• Other duties as assigned.
