The MLS will handle pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic workflow, ensure specimen integrity, and maintain QC and instrument performance in a clinical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of pre-analytic workflow to ensure orders are entered correctly, specimens are appropriate, and are correctly processed/transported.
• Verifies orders and non-patient information according to protocol.
• Handles unresolved orders and troubleshoots as needed.
• Verifies with physicians/nurses before LIS entry to resolve unclear orders.
• Verifies specimens for add-on tests and generates add-on orders.
• Maintains test system integrity through preventive maintenance and QC.
