Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant to join our overnight team in Chicago. This full-time role offers 40 hours weekly with a 10pm–6:30am shift and weekend/holiday rotation.

You will support main lab staff, handle specimen intake, and enter results in Epic LIS. Responsibilities include coordinating specimen drops, ensuring proper container and volume, and communicating critical results to care teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1 year of general lab, specimen processing or phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with lab staff and departments to ensure excellent patient care.
• Receives specimens into the laboratory information system.
• Inputs and retrieves lab results in Epic LIS.
• Register specimen drop-offs in LIS with accurate data entry.
• Distributes specimens to the appropriate testing areas.
• May perform phlebotomy and related duties as needed.
