Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology meeting ASCP/AMT requirements.
• In lieu of education, a Bachelor's degree plus MLS certificate/diploma or 50-week military medical laboratory training may be considered.
• Knowledge of basic office equipment and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and stat laboratory tests under limited supervision.
• Operate instruments with QC and verify results before reporting.
• Verify patient ID, specimen labeling and proper specimen handling.
• Instruct new employees and document proficiency; report training issues to supervisor.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and monitor supplies and expiration dates.
• Observe safety protocols and report any hazardous situations.
