Job summary

Prisma Health Hospital Laboratory is seeking a qualified Medical Technologist to perform routine and stat laboratory tests under limited supervision. You will operate instrumentation, monitor QC/QM, and ensure specimen integrity while documenting results.

A bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science and appropriate certification are required; no prior experience is necessary. Night shift at Baptist Hospital within the Laboratory-General department offers the opportunity to contribute to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
Certifications such as MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP)cm, or equivalent are required or preferred.
Associates degree with MT(HEW) certification or current Categorical (ASCP) is acceptable in some cases.
Meets CLIA training/experience requirements as outlined by regulations.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine and stat laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment under limited supervision.
Operate laboratory instrumentation and maintain equipment function checks.
Monitor QC/QM, document results, and ensure supply inventory is adequate.
Communicate critical values to the health care team and document appropriately.
