Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for the Lexington Medical Center Laboratory, nights, Tue–Fri 9pm–7am. 40 hours per week with a focus on timely, accurate test results and compliance with QC/QA procedures.

Requires MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification and an associates degree (NAACLS preferred). Experience in a hospital lab and LIS proficiency are expected. Benefits eligibility applies.

Qualifications

• Requires MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Previous experience as Medical Lab Technician preferred.
• NAACLS approved Medical Technician program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to hospital standards; promote teamwork and communication.
• Ensure accuracy and timely lab results; respond to STATs.
• Follow QC/QA procedures; document and review testing activities.
• Identify patient correctly; label and track samples through testing.
• Maintain safety and regulatory compliance in all procedures.
• Pursue ongoing education to maintain certifications and skills.
