Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, Florida is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our night shift team. This role performs high-complexity laboratory testing, ensures safety protocols are followed, and supports education for clinical staff.

The candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science and at least 2 years of technical experience, with CLIA-equivalency and appropriate certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or MLS/CLIA equivalency

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies including PPE, handwashing and hazardous chemical handling
• Perform pre-analytical activities: equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control and specimen collection
• Report results and provide technical support for all age groups
• Act as a preceptor to orient and train new staff and students
• Evaluate new laboratory techniques and assist with data collection and special projects
• Support performance improvement activities and education to clinical staff
