Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida seeks a competent Medical Laboratory Technician to support pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical lab activities. The role emphasizes accurate specimen handling, timely result reporting, and adherence to SOPs and safety standards.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science and strong English communication. Applicants may participate in proficiency testing and collaborate with clinical staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science.
• 2+ years of clinical lab experience (preferred).
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Knowledge of CLIA requirements and laboratory safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, inventory control, sample collection and processing.
• Conduct post-analytical activities including reporting results and providing technical support.
• Complete tests and procedures per standard operating procedures.
• Participate in proficiency testing and regulatory compliance.
• May precept and train new staff; educate clinical staff as needed.
• Follow safety policies including PPE use and hazardous materials handling.
