Job summary

Recology is seeking a skilled maintenance mechanic to provide mechanical maintenance services for heavy landfill equipment and processing gear. You will diagnose, test, repair, and maintain powertrains, drivetrains, hydraulic systems, and related components, ensuring safe operation.

The role requires experience with welding, fabrication, and shop work, plus a valid Class A or B CDL within 6 months of hire. Shift is Monday–Friday, with some mandatory overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a formal mechanical trade school highly desirable.
• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with no restrictions within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, tests and repairs vehicles and landfill equipment including powertrains, drivetrains, electrical, steering, braking, exhaust and suspension systems.
• Diagnoses, tests and repairs refuse vehicle and transfer trailer bodies including hydraulic, electrical and body systems.
• Maintains processing equipment such as balers, conveyors and motors; performs shop and facility maintenance.
• Performs basic fabrication work using welding equipment, torches, tools and machinery.
• Orders and maintains shop parts, tools, equipment and supplies.
• Completes paperwork and database entries related to work performed.
• Acts as lead worker, directing others and reviewing work.
