Job summary

Recology Western Oregon is seeking a maintenance mechanic to diagnose, repair and service heavy vehicles and landfill equipment at the Warrenton facility. You will perform inspections, electrical testing, hydraulic work and basic fabrication to keep operations safe and productive.

The role requires experience in mechanical maintenance, knowledge of diesel or CNG engines, and the ability to lead and train others while ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of progressively responsible mechanical experience
• Waste and recycling industry experience preferred
• Experience with DOT Out-of-Service Criteria and CHP B.I.T. inspections
• Experience with maintenance facilities and heavy equipment
• Knowledge of diesel and/or CNG engines and fabrication tools
• Knowledge of electrical controls and motor systems
• Knowledge of safety rules and best practices
• Basic computer literacy
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Trade school graduation highly desirable
• Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, tests and repairs vehicles and heavy landfill equipment.
• Maintains and repairs hydraulic, electrical and body systems.
• Maintains processing equipment like balers, conveyors and motors.
• Performs basic fabrication with welding equipment.
• Orders and maintains shop parts and supplies.
• Completes paperwork and data entries.
• Acts as lead worker by directing others.
• Other duties as assigned
