Job summary

Pridgeon and Clay is seeking a Third Shift Supervisor in Grand Rapids, MI. The role oversees production, quality, safety, and personnel management across a shift, ensuring targets and process standards are met.

The ideal candidate has leadership experience in an industrial setting, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. This is a night shift with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and team coordination.

Qualifications

• Diploma or GED (Associate's Degree preferred).
• Experience leading teams in an industrial environment.
• Experience with hiring, performance appraisals, and disciplinary processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational and collaboration skills.
• The ability to perform projects with a high degree of detail.
• Excellent work record, including attendance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily production to ensure shipping requirements are met and production rates are achieved.
• Participate in manpower planning and propose solutions for fluctuations.
• Track key manufacturing metrics: run time attainment, equipment setup, internal parts per million (PPM), cost of quality (COQ), safety, on-time PPAPs, and delivery.
• Manage supplies, overtime, scrap, efficiency, and inventory accuracy.
• Overlap with other shifts to ensure smooth shift transitions.
• Be responsive to calls on company phone and provide timely follow-up.
• Ensure documentation (bar code labels, verification sheets) is completed accurately by the team.
• Monitor perishables and develop lean replenishment methods.
• Lead and participate in lean initiatives and continuous improvement events.
• Schedule, review and approve team member schedules; drive implementation of improvement ideas.
• Prepare annual performance appraisals and set development plans.
