Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Norwalk, IA seeks a Maintenance Technician L1 for the night shift (2-2-3; 6pm-6am; 14–15 days/month).

Main duties include executing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment installation, and process improvements to improve asset reliability and safety. The role requires reading mechanical drawings, schematics, P&ID diagrams, and SAP experience, with strong communication across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate, or experience which demonstrates technical aptitude preferred.
• 1 year of experience as an industrial maintenance technician preferred.
• Ability to read and decipher mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&ID diagrams preferred.
• Prior experience in SAP preferred.
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate with reliability and maintenance team members to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Learn and execute Precision Maintenance techniques ensuring procedures are followed.
• Perform technical troubleshooting with experienced maintenance personnel.
• Participate in maintenance training for staff.
• Follow reliability procedures for critical spares and parts.
• Assist in implementing quality commissioning procedures for rebuilt or new equipment.
• Assist maintenance craftsmen during precision maintenance assignments.
• Use CMMS to manage reliability reporting and decisions.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records as required.
• Provide input for RCA and Reliability Centered Maintenance.
• Promote Michael Foods culture, values, and principles.
• Model safe work behaviors and ensure a safe workplace.
