Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Norwalk, IA is seeking a Maintenance Technician L1 to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment during 2-2-3 night shifts (6pm-6am).

You will troubleshoot, install, and Commission equipment while improving asset reliability and ensuring food safety compliance. The role requires a high school diploma (GED accepted) with preferred 1 year of industrial maintenance experience and ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&ID

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical aptitude preferred.
• 1 year of maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read and decipher mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&ID diagrams preferred.
• Prior experience in SAP preferred.
• Good communication skills across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Participate with reliability and maintenance teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Learn and execute Precision Maintenance techniques ensuring procedures and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform maintenance tasks.
• Assist with maintenance training and knowledge sharing.
• Follow reliability procedures for critical spares and parts.
• Support quality commissioning for rebuilt or new equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and support RCA and asset reliability initiatives.
• Uphold safety, GMP, and food safety standards.
