Job summary

Aerotek seeks a Maintenance Technician for the night shift on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule at a major automotive plastics facility in Grand Rapids, MI. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on forming, machining, assembly, and packaging equipment to keep production running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, strong mechanical and electrical skills, and proficiency with CMMS and PLC systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform emergency repairs on production machinery during active runs to minimize downtime, including PLC-controlled equipment, motors, CNC machines, robotics, and conveyors.
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance tasks on forming, machining, assembly, and packaging equipment according to established maintenance plans.
• Rebuild and repair mechanical and fluid power components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, and gearboxes to ensure reliable operation.
• Maintain and repair facility hydraulic and pneumatic lines to support consistent equipment performance.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting by reading schematics and working with three-phase power up to 480V, diagnosing sensor, relay, and wiring issues.
• Use a multimeter and diagnostic tools to identify electrical faults and verify operation.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, OSHA guidelines, and internal safety policies.
• Document all maintenance activities, parts usage, and improvements in CMMS.
• Collaborate with production teams to prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and recommending corrective actions.
