Job summary

Ms Companies, LLC in Grand Rapids is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for its automotive manufacturing operation. You will keep production equipment running safely and reliably through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and machine setup, with emphasis on robotic systems and Allen-Bradley controls.

This role requires hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, Fanuc or Motoman/Yaskawa robots, and the ability to work 2nd shift (4:00 PM–2:30 AM, Mon–Thu).

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC and HMI programs.
• Hands-on with Allen‑Bradley controls and robotics is essential.
• Valid driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns.
• Inspect machinery for wear, damage, and signs of malfunction.
• Diagnose issues and complete mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic repairs.
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and robotic systems to restore operation.
• Replace worn components and complete emergency repairs as needed.
• Install, assemble, set up, and test new machinery and equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety procedures.

Shift: 2nd Shift | 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM | Monday - Thursday

Compensation: $29.00 per hour plus a 7% shift premium

Job Summary

We are partnering with a leading automotive supplier seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for its Grand Rapids manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for keeping production equipment operating safely and reliably through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and machine setup. Robotic troubleshooting is critical to this role, and the ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Allen‑Bradley controls, PLCs, HMIs, and Fanuc and/or Motoman/Yaskawa robotic systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Experience troubleshooting and making adjustments to PLC and HMI programs
• Working knowledge of Allen‑Bradley PLCs and industrial control systems
• Experience troubleshooting and adjusting Fanuc and/or Motoman/Yaskawa robotic systems
• Ability to manage scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in a fast‑paced production environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Automotive manufacturing experience
• Journeyman Card in Electrical, Machine Repair, or Machine Building
• Experience installing, assembling, and testing production machinery
• Familiarity with MiR autonomous mobile robots
• Experience maintaining conveyors, motors, pneumatic tools, and automated production equipment

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns
• Inspect machinery for wear, damage, irregular sounds, and other signs of malfunction
• Diagnose equipment issues and complete mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic repairs
• Troubleshoot and adjust PLC, HMI, and robotic systems to restore proper equipment operation
• Replace worn or damaged components and complete emergency repairs as needed
• Install, assemble, set up, and test new machinery and equipment
• Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain accurate maintenance records

Physical and Environment Requirements

This position is performed in an automotive manufacturing environment and may require standing or walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, climbing, and working around operating machinery. Candidates must be able to use tools safely and perform the physical duties associated with equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
